Manuka is a species in the myrtle family Myrtaceae, native to Australia and New Zealand. It is typically a shrub growing to 2–5 m tall. It is evergreen, with dense branching and small prickly leaves. The flowers are white, occasionally pink, with five petals. Flowering occurs between October and February.
